AUDI EUROPE COMITS TO SAILING.

Audi AG has announced two new sailing sponsorship deals in Europe involving the MedCup and Melges 32 Series.

The TP52 Class racing series which comprises of 6 events will be called the Audi MedCup Circuit. Over the past couple of years, this class has grown in stature with races in Spain, France, Portugal and Italy held between May and September. The high-tech boats are favoured by America’s Cup skippers and crew as well as millionaire owner-drivers and Olympic champions. The Audi deal is for three years. http://www.medcup.org

Audi have also officially announced the 2008 Audi Melges 32 Sailing Series, which will include five events between May and October in Italy.

"We are so excited about this very, very important announcement,' said Federico Michetti, president of Melges Europe. "Audi is one of the largest sponsors in the sailing industry. To have them as a series partner, less than a year after the Melges 32's arrival in Europe is really amazing. The Melges Team has been working hard on this collaboration. This ultimately will make the Melges 32 stronger and stronger worldwide."

Audi specifically chose the Melges 32 for its uncompromising performance, adrenaline, speed and competitive fleet characteristics.
